“Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality”

Modern day life is putting a lot of pressure on society. We’re pushing away our real selves which often makes us forget who we actually are. Doing so, we also forget to just stand still and enjoy the present moment. I’d like to encourage people to focus on their dreams and don’t let the machine of society stand in the way of doing the things they love. Only believing in the Neverland showed by television and social media makes us live in an illusion. Instead of bringing us together, it’s actually building a wall around every individual.

In my work I’m escaping the chaos of reality in a longing for better times. Through my camera lens I find beauty in composition, little things and quiet moments. My work is very personal and an intuitive catalyst of my vision on life. It’s about living in an artificial cage, the desire to break free from the illusion, and the struggle to find a way back to the inner child.

The work is framing the echoes of a distant tide. It’s about the contrast of darkness and light; a battle of good and evil within ourselves, as well as in this world. More and more we refuse to see, feel or expose the shadow side. It sometimes feels like we’re simply put in a box, hiding behind an always smiling mask, seeing just the things we want to see. What is truth? What is my truth?

When the day becomes the night and the sky becomes the sea
when the clock strikes heavy and there’s no time for tea
And in our darkest hour, before my final rhyme
she will come back home to wonderland and turn back the hands of time
